Open casting calls? What are they and should aspiring actors go to them?
When Disney announced that they will be rebooting the Star Wars franchise, casting directors all over the world posted an open casting call looking for actors, models, and talent to audition for lead roles. It would help launch the careers of several unknown actors including John Boyega and Daisy Ridley.
But, what are open casting calls? And are they beneficial to actors? Well, Arvold Casting’s Erica Arvold, which is the casting director for AMC and Netflix TV shows, recently shared amazing acting tips about open casting calls, and what actors should do during an open casting call.
